What is the Purpose of the Health Anxiety from the Pandemic Initiative (HAPI) Study?

To develop and test the effectiveness of the 90SecondHealth Anxiety health letter and THIS WAY UP iCBT in improving health anxiety. 

What is 90Second Health Anxiety?

The 90SecondHealth Anxiety health letter is designed to improve health anxiety in all individuals who are at least 18 years of age. Each health letter will provide valuable information and helpful tips to improve health anxiety. 

What is THIS WAY UP iCBT Program?

The THIS WAY UP iCBT program is designed to improve health anxiety in all individuals who are at least 18 years of age. The program contains 6 comic-based online lessons that will provide valuable information and helpful tips to improve health anxiety.

How Can I Participate in the Study?

What Will I Need to Participate?

You will need a tablet, a smartphone, or a computer with internet access. You will receive a link to the questionnaires via email. No additional software is needed.

Is the study done online?

The study is done fully online. This means that you are able to take part from the comfort of your own home.

What is the Time Commitment?

You will be asked to complete three 20-minute questionnaires. 

You will be receiving either 2 health letters per week for 13 weeks. Each health letter will take a couple of minutes to read.  Or you will receive access to the THIS WAY UP iCBT program which is self-guided. You will have 3 months to complete. 

What if I Decide to Stop my Participation?

You will receive a short email from us acknowledging that you have decided to stop your participation, and you will be given the option to remove your data from the study. You can stop participating at any time.
